Meet your mentor

Hi, I’m Jemma.

I’m an Australian 400m sprinter who is passionate about helping the next generation of female athletes build the mindset, confidence and habits to perform at their best.

Ten years on the track

I’ve been involved in athletics for over 10 years and have represented Australia at the World Championships, World Indoor Championships, World Athletics Relays, World U20 Championships and International Children’s Games. Along the way I’ve won medals on the world stage, travelled the world through sport and I am continuing to pursue my dream of competing at the Olympic Games.

Like many athletes, my journey hasn’t always been easy. I’ve experienced competition nerves, setbacks, injuries, disappointment, juggling school, work and training, and overcoming exercise-induced asthma. These challenges have shaped me into the athlete I am today and taught me lessons that I now get to share with others.

Outside of competing, I’ve coached developing athletes, spoken to students through the Olympics Unleashed program and mentored young people to believe in themselves and chase their goals.

Why I created Inspire Athletes

I created Inspire Athletes because I want young female athletes to learn the skills I wish someone had taught me when I was their age.

My goal isn’t just to help you become a better athlete. It’s to help you enjoy the journey, build confidence that lasts beyond sport and give you the tools to reach your full potential.
